Warm Season Crop Seeding
March 04, 2017
During this class we embraced the spring season and learned what plants grow best in the warm weather. By using a repurposed egg carton to plant, you reduce waste because you are saving the carton from the trash or recycling. The carton is biodegradable so it can be planted directly into the soil when transplanting is needed. The carton is stable and provides six different opportunities to grow plants.
One class member decided to plant tomatoes. Most crops do well in the summer and spring weather here in San Diego. Sowing the seeds in mid-March will ensure full growth by the summer. For full vegetable planting season guide, visit the page here
