Why: Beginning your plants from seeds allows you to control exactly what types of plants you would like to produce. We recommend choosing organic seeds to give you the most nutritious options and to ensure a healthy plant.
Hydroponic nutrient solution ( We used Botanicare CNS 17)
3 inch basket
Soak your soil pod in water until it has fully expanded.
Next, drop in up to 4 seeds in the hole on the top of your pod. Place your seed pod into a small plastic bag and seal almost completely, leaving about a one inch opening. Put the bag in a dark, warm place and allow a germination time of about 3-4 days. Once sprouted, the seedling needs to be brought into the light because once it has leaves, it can begin photosynthesis and start to produce its own food. Once the plant is 1-2 inches tall, transfer into your hydroponic system.
Fill each container with water, but leave one inch at the top because the 3 inch basket will displace it.
Each container needs a different amount of nutrient solution depending on the size of the container. (Check the back of Hydroponic nutrient solution for exact measurements)
Make sure the pH is between 5.5 and 6.5 and you are good to go!
